Habanero Hot Sauce Ingredients
  • 3/4 vinegar, any kind but rice wine
  • 2-3 tablespoons Habanero Powder (available below)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 12 cloves of garlic
  • One large carrot sliced into pieces
  • 3/4 cup chopped onion
  • 3/4 cup loosely pack cilantro

Habanero Hot Sauce Cooking Instructions

habanero hot sauce

To make this spicy Habanero hot sauce add vinegar, Habanero powder, thyme, and salt to a tightly sealed blender and blend for 10 seconds on the lowest setting. Do not remove the lid for 10 minutes to allow any airborne particles to settle and the mixture to steep. Add the garlic, carrot and onion to the blender and blend on high until the sauce is almost smooth. Add the cilantro and blend again on high until it is incorporated into the Habanero hot sauce and the sauce is smooth.

The Habanero sauce is now ready for consumption, but its flavor will improve over the next 24 hour or so as the ingredients are allowed to come together and meld. You may wish to store most of it for later use.

This homemade Habanero sauce is extremely hot so caution must be used when placing it in jars or other containers for storage. Once bottled, this Habanero hot sauce should be stored in the refrigerator for up to six months, or it can be canned using proper canning procedures and pantry stored for up to one year before opening and refrigeration.

A note about the picture above, this picture of a preparation of our Habanero hot sauce recipe accompanied by tortilla chips, but no mistake should be made that this is anything but a true hot sauce. Eat it on tortilla chips will cause even the most hardcore chili lovers mouth to explode in burning heat after just a few chips. This recipe for Habanero hot sauce is intended to be used to add flavor and heat to other foods.
